Twelve Injured in Stampede Over False Rumor of Energetic Shooter at Orlando Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration
A crowd of an estimated 100,000 gathered at Lake Eola Park in Orlando, Florida to look at town’s Independence Day fireworks show panicked and stampeded throughout the fireworks present over an unfounded rumor of an energetic shooter. Firecrackers reportedly set off within the crowd that have been mistaken for gunshots provoked the stampede, injuring twelve and separating households.
